1. Ace: An ace refers to a serve that the opponent fails to return, resulting in an immediate point.


2. Alley: The alley is the court area between the doubles and the singles sideline.


3. Backhand: A backhand is a shot executed using the backside of the paddle and is typically used for shots on the player's backhand side.


4. Dink: A dink is a soft and low shot played over the net, aiming to keep the ball in play and disrupt the opponent's positioning.


5. Drive: A drive is a powerful shot struck with significant force, intended to end a rally or apply pressure on the opponent.


6. Fault: A fault is a mistake made by a player during a rally, such as hitting the ball out of bounds or taking more than one step while hitting it.


7. Foot Fault: A foot fault occurs when a player makes a mistake while serving, like stepping on or over the baseline or not keeping both feet behind the baseline.


8. Kitchen: The kitchen refers to the area on the court that lies inside the non-volley zone.


9. Let: A let is a rally that is replayed due to an interruption or disturbance, like a ball from another court interfering with play.


10. Lob: A lob is a high, deep shot played over the opponent's head, used to disrupt their positioning or create pressure.


11. Non-Volley Zone (NVZ): The non-volley zone is the area within 7 feet of the net where players cannot hit the ball directly after it has bounced.


12. Paddle: The paddle is the racket-like tool used to hit the ball in pickleball.

20. Split Step: A split step is a quick movement performed by a player just before the ball is hit, intended to improve balance and be ready to move in any direction.
